SARA DAVIS BUECHNER ENDS THE SERENATA MUSIC 2016-2017 SEASON ON A HIGH NOTE. Sara's program of Mozart, Chopin, Ibert and Taku reinforced her reputation as a consummate artist who enjoys introducing audiences to less well known works. Her informal stage presence and spectacular performance was instantly accepted by an appreciative audience. This past season has presented a wonderful array of music. We started with the trio of Scott St. John, violin, James Sommerville, French horn, and Peter Longworth, piano, who intoduced us to a new Canadian work by Vivian Fung. This was followed by bassist extraordinaire Joel Quarrington, who with Peter Longworth, piano, showed us the breadth of music to be made on the largest of the violin family. Then came sensational young Candian pianist Jan Lisiecki who wowed the audience with his musicality and intelligent interpretaions of many composers. The tribute to organ maker, Gabriel Kney, with organists Michael Bloss and Andrew Sinclair playing the Kney organ proved to be a musical treat as well as an emotional event. We complete the season with our good friend Sara Davis Buechner, who delighted our audience with her humour and pianistic wizardry. We look forward to seeing you this Saturday as well as next fall when we present David Jalbert, and the Clarion Quartet . We will announce the winter-spring concerts shortly.
OUR 2016-17 SEASON is BELOW AS WELL AS A PREVIEW OF THE FALL 2017 SEASON.

We are pleased to welcome 17 year old Canadian pianist, Jan Lisiecki, back to London following a wonderful appearance with Orchestra London this year and a concert at the Stratford Summer Music Festival. Jan has recently recorded two Mozart concertos under Maestro Christian Zacharias with the Kammerorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks with Deutche Grammaphon. Born in Calgary, Jan has appeared around the world with orchestras and with the New Zealand String Quartet, Quatuor Ébène, and the Penderecki String Quartet. He is currently studying at the Glen Gould School of Music on a full scholarship. Jan recently was interviewed by Jian Ghomeshi <http://www.cbc.ca/q/blog/2012/07/23/jan-lisiecki-on-q/> and can be heard on Youtube <http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=jan+lisiecki&oq=jan+lisiecki&gs_l=youtube.1.0.0l10.4435.14401.0.18222.214.171.124.126.96.36.199.762.3j3.6.0...0.0...1ac.Nkd8aPidBDE>.
