SERENATA MUSIC WELCOMES EVERYONE BACK TO THE 2025-26 CONCERT SEASON

We are pleased to continue our collaboration with both the London Symphonia and the Don Wright Faculty of Music.
Canadian pianist David Jalbert opens the season with London Symphonia with the Ravel piano concerto in G major. Londoners have had the privilege of hearing David on our stage and in London many times. Each concert has been unique as he expands his repertoire. Maestra Cosette Justo Vldes will make her Symphonia debut conducting Mozart's Symphony no.39, Holme's La Nuit et l"Amour, andPrat's Canta el Carretero Caunda Dan Las Seis.
In November The Musicians from Marlboro will return for the fourth time to perform at Western's von Kuster hall.
London's own Lara St. John will join London Symphonia in January with conductor Nicolas Ellis in a concert titled The Ancient Flame. She will perform Dorman's Violin concerto No.2, Nigunim.
Our final presentation will be The Brahms Effect. Clarinetist Graham Lord and the London Symphonia String Quartet, Joe Lanza, violin, Emile Pare, violin, Kelvin Enns, viola, and Ben Bolt-Martin will perform the Brahms Clarinet Quintet and other pieces. Tom Allen will provide the commentary.
We look forward to seeing you during this exciting season.

David Jalbert performs regularly as a soloist and recitalist in Canada and across the globe. His solo recordings of the Goldberg Variations, the Shostakovich Preludes and Fugues, of American, French and Russian piano music have all garnered praise internationally in venues ranging from Fanfare to France-Culture. As a soloist, he has appeared with orchestras such as OSM, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Les Violons du Roy, the National Symphony of Ireland, and has performed many times with Orchestre Metropolitain and its maestro Yannick Nézet Seguin. Equally prolific as a chamber musician, he has collaborated with artists such as Nicola Benedetti, Charles Richard Hamelin, Joel Quarrington, James Campbell and Rachel Barton Pine, and has recorded with Pentaedre, cellist Denise Djokic, and with his trio Triple Forte (with Jasper Wood and Yegor Dyachkov). Mr. Jalbert has won six times at the Prix Opus and is a recipient of the Canada Council for the Arts’ Virginia Parker Prize. He holds degrees from the Juilliard School, the Glenn Gould School, University de Montreal and Conservatoire de Musique du Quebec, and is now a Professor of Piano at the University of Ottawa and a member of the faculty at the Orford Music Academy.

Cuban-born and raised conductor Cosette Justo Valdes has garnered acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic and is a rising star on the world's concert stage. She is presently Resident Conductor of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra (Canada) where she has won the hearts of musicians and audience alike. Recent highlights include a mindblowing (Ottawa Citizen) collaboration with Esperanza Spalding and the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, and a celebrated Cosi fan tutte with the Edmonton Opera, conducted from the harpsichord.
Cosette was recently chosen as finalist in the searches for Music Director of the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra (US) and the Vancouver Island Symphony Orchestra (Canada). She has also been nominated for the Heinz Unger Award 2022 by the Ontario Arts Council in Canada.
