The London Symphonia String Quartet along with narrator Tom Allen wowed the audience with stories and music from the era of the Holocaust. The story of how the Walter Kaufman's String Quartet No.5, composed in India in 1935, came to London was beautifully told. The complementary tales of the Edwin Schulhoff and Erik Korngold music made a fascinating evening of history and music. The bizarre story of the Third Reich's glorification of Mozart completed the program with the playing of the String Quartet No.21. We thank Joseph Lanza, Andrew Chung and the staff of the London Symphonia who brought this concert to fruition.
We also appreciate the support of Jewish London, the London Free Press and CBC London.
