SERENATA MUSIC CONCLUDES A SUCCESSFUL 2023-24 SEASON
Serenata Music audiences enjoyed a wonderful season in 2023-24 with the Forbidden Music and Musicians from Marlboro in November, and pianist Janina Falkowska in January.
The Janina Falkowska concert proved to be a highlight musical event for the enthusiastic audience at the London Symphonia January concert in the Metropolitan United Church. Ms. Falkowska demonstrated why she is the ultimate interpreter of Chopin with her elegant playing of the Piano Concerto No.1. The fine conducting by guest maestro Rei Hotoda gave the audience an opportunity to appreciate the level of our London musicians. The concert began with the Symphony No. 2 by Louise Farrenc, a 19th century female composer, which had references to Beethoven, and Haydn in it. It was a choice made by Ms. Hotoda who champions female composers. It was a pleasure to see and hear this wonderful musical collaboration.
